Nikon Nikkormat EL Analoge camera

The Nikon Nikomat EL (in Japan) or Nikkormat EL (elsewhere) was introduced in 1972. It was one of Nikon's first attempts at producing a camera with electronic control. It features an electronically-timed shutter ranging from 4 seconds to 1/1000. Its center-weighted CdS meter enables aperture-priority automatic exposure, but it is a pre-AI body requiring the "twist-twist" used on early Nikons to index the maximum aperture of each mounted lens. Electronic flash sync is at speeds up to 1/125th second. Power is provided by a PX28 6.2 volt silver-oxide battery, inserted into a chamber at the bottom of the mirror box. The shutter and metering are disabled to conserve battery power until the film-advance lever is pulled outwards, uncovering a red dot. (www.camera-wiki.org) Lens Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4 Sn 3832173 Camera in good but used condition. Although more electric old camera's are a bit less reliable this camera is working very good. Only battery check LED is not working. This does not affect the operations of the camera. Little dust in the finder. I prefer this EL model over the standard nikkormat Fn, because of the reliability of the light meter and the used battery type. Lightmeter of the Fn is often "jumpy" and uses the not anymore existing 1.35 volt battery. The lens is in nice condition! Everything running smoothly. I checked the camera with film, see the strip. I tried the automatic light metering for several apertures, all worked fine. I made some special pictures regarding opening the camera, location of the battery setting iso and unlocking the camera. These aspects are typically for this model.
