Schatz & Sohne precisie scheepsbarometer, ontworpen door August Schatz & Sohne in Duitsland, late 20e eeuw, diameter 18 cm en diepte 10 cm, messing- en metalen behuizing met glazen voorzijde, werkend en in goede staat met lichte tekenen van veroudering.

Designed and made by August Schatz & Sohne "Jahresuhrenfabrik" around 1960/70s
The curved thermometer indicates temperature in both Celcius and Fahrenheit. This is the version: “ Compensated Precision Barometer".
The front glass window is all intact without scratches, and can easily be opnened. The brass housing has only little wear and tear.

August Schatz founded this company in the mid-1850s in Triburg, Germany. It was first known as Jahresuhrenfabrik A.G. But in 1923 it changed to August Schatz & Sohne. They produced barometers, mechanical clocks and electric quartz clocks.
The company struggled to compete in the early 1980s and finally closed down in 1985.
All items are wrapped in protection, foam or air bubbles and in full compliance with the German Packaging Act. And packed in a solid box for fragile objects, protection is increased.
A must-have for any maritime enthusiast.
