Original vehicle body in Kyrgyz Orange.
Original factory engine
4-seat version approved on the registration document.
Technical check passed without defects found.
History / Overview
The Citroën Mehari was a small leisure vehicle made of ABS, also known as a 'beach car'. It used the chassis and mechanics of the 2CV. The car up for auction is painted in the color 'Arancio Kirghiz' and is a very special series produced only in 1977: it still features the body of the first series with a small front but is already equipped with sought-after disc brakes and an improved braking system. This combination was produced only in 1977.
EXTERNAL
The bodywork is the original factory Citroen, with normal signs, touch-ups, and repairs over time from a vehicle that has always been used. It is, however, presentable and usable. It is in the color 'AC 315 Arancio kirghiz' and has been repainted in the past.
The load-bearing frame is generally in good original condition and compliant with circulation regulations; the vehicle's floors are generally solid, both in the front and rear seat areas. No signs of accidents have been detected, and the car has been passionately preserved by the previous owner.
Internal
The interior is in good condition and has been restored in the past. It is equipped with the optional rear bench seat and is homologated for four seats on the registration document. The rubber mats and the soft top are in good condition, as are the original dashboard and steering wheel.
MECHANICS
Mechanically, the engine is original as per the registration document, operational, and the technical inspection is valid until June 2026, having passed without any issues. The car is enjoyable to drive, with smooth gear engagement, and the brakes are functioning properly. However, a general check before normal use is always recommended, as the car has only been used during the summer periods.
This version is considered the true original design of the Mehari and is increasingly sought after by collectors, especially with the original factory AK2 engine and front disc brakes, in the iconic Orange color; it is a collectible vehicle.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
