The House of Alphonse Giroux, 'the merchant of princes', was an important Parisian producer of luxury furniture and accessories, whose products catered to an aristocratic and bourgeois clientele. Founded in 1799 at No. 7 Rue du Coq Saint-Honoré, and later on Boulevard des Capucines, it was founded by François-Simon-Alphonse Giroux under the name 'A. GIROUX à PARIS'.
