Description from the seller
Iconic Danish mid-century tray – Dansk Design – Jens H. Quistgaard (IHQ) – circa the 1950s/60s
Very beautiful and authentic Danish design tray, designed by Jens H. Quistgaard for Dansk Designs. This generous collectible tray is a beautiful example of the functional, timeless Scandinavian design for which Quistgaard became internationally famous.
The tray is made of solid teak and is characterized by a warm, deep wood color with a lively and elegant grain pattern. The design is typical of Quistgaard: organic, clean, and perfectly balanced, with subtly integrated handles and refined, milled details along the long sides. This makes the tray look both practical and sculptural.
At the bottom the tray is clearly marked with “Dansk Design – IHQ,” where IHQ stands for Jens Harald Quistgaard. This marking confirms the authenticity and places the object in the original Dansk production from the 1950s–1960s, the heyday of Danish mid-century design.

Jens H. Quistgaard was the leading designer and creative force behind Dansk Design. His work is praised for the way everyday objects are elevated into design objects. Quistgaard's designs are today highly prized by collectors and interior designers worldwide.
