Denon DP 6000 – Audiophile version –, manufactured in 1977, in excellent physical condition and tested and working, includes power adapter and renovated.
Description from the seller
The Denon DP 6000 was offered in the late seventies as a modular system. In other words, the delivery included only the turntable itself, i.e., without the cabinet and the tonearm. These could be chosen according to one's own preferences, taste, and budget. The player offered here comes in the following audiophile configuration:
-- DP 6000 player
-- DK 110 cabinet
-- Grace G 545 s-shaped tone arm
-- Audio-Technica AT-14Ea (mm) element
The DP 6000 is a high-end, direct-drive turntable with quartz lock (Quartz Lock) and a speed monitoring system designed by Denon itself that continuously checks the set speed and adjusts it as needed. The roots of this 6000 lie in the professional turntables that were used, among others, in radio studios. The powerful AC servo motor ensures the platter is instantly up to speed, and the electronically controlled brake brings the 1.8 kg heavy platter to a stop in two counts. Through the built-in stroboscope you can, if desired, increase or decrease the speed by up to 6% (Pitch Control). As is common with many high-end players, this top Denon is also fully manually operated.
The Denon DK 110 cabinet in which this DP 6000 is built provides the whole with a classic look thanks to the bubinga wood finish. Thanks to its own weight of almost 10 kg in combination with four height-adjustable damping feet, any vibrations are eliminated. For the dust cover, a smoked-glass version was chosen; it has a few small (normal) signs of use but they are not distracting. The hinges are sturdy and keep the cover well open.
A tonearm was chosen for the high-end lightweight Grace G 545. This statically balanced arm uses a 10 mm lightweight aluminum tube for maximum rigidity at minimal weight. The tracking force (0-3 grams) and anti-skating can be set with extreme precision. The counterweight is divided into two parts (light and heavy) to facilitate balancing of different elements between 2.5 and 17 grams.
The mounted Audio-Technica AT 14Ea cartridge belongs to Audio-Technica's high-end VM series of its era and features a dual-magnet design for accurate stereo playback. The sonic image is detailed, clear, and dynamic. This premium cartridge brings music to life.
As you can see from the photos, this fantastic high-end player is still in wonderfully good external condition. Almost no signs of use, a sight to behold! Under the hood, this top player is (of course) also in top condition. As is customary at RiVe, every item up for auction first goes to RiVe's fixed service technician. The motor was lubricated, the motor shaft cleaned, and all electronics including printed circuit boards checked. Only after the technician is 100% satisfied is the item offered for auction so you can bid with peace of mind. Because this is a player that was exclusively sold on the Japanese domestic market (100 volts), a step-down converter (220/240V > 100V) is required. This is always included with the purchase from RiVe.
If you want to see the player in action, check out RiVe's own YouTube channel by searching for RiVe Vintage Audio. Besides its perfect functioning, you can also view its cosmetic condition.
