Counter-signed, titled, dated and dedicated on the back of the canvas by the artist: "L'orchestre rose 1980"
Provenance: Gift from the artist.
A striking high-contrast work by the French painter Victor Hasch, depicting an orchestra playing a symphony.
The artist uses the palette knife technique to give relief to his composition.
Victor Hasch is a French painter and lithographer known for his vividly colored works; his art sits in the lineage of the painters he admires—Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Rauschenberg, and Nicolas de Staël.
In the 1980s, he produced a series of works, notably on the theme of music, in the spirit of Nicolas de Staël's compositions.
Victor Hasch is represented in the largest private and public collections.
Note: There are scattered cracks in the sky, not significantly affecting the work, due to the rapid drying of the paint.
Dimensions: 38 x 46 cm without a frame and 54.5 x 62.5 cm with an original wooden frame.
