Description from the seller
Hermann Siersbøl – Sterling silver floral brooch – Denmark – ca. 1950–1970
Siersbøl
• Herman Siersbøl was a Danish gold- and silversmith who in 1945 began making affordable, high-quality jewelry. His company grew to become one of the largest producers of silver jewelry in Scandinavia.
• Collectors regard him as a highly respected modernist designer; after his tragic death in 1964, the company was carried on by his family. Art historical and vintage sources report that his pieces were made in various modern and naturalistic forms, often in sterling 925 silver, and with the HS hallmark.
This elegant Danish design brooch in solid sterling silver (925), designed and manufactured by the renowned silversmith Hermann Siersbøl. The design features a graceful leaf-and-vine composition with soft, organic lines — a beautiful example of Scandinavian modern design with a nature motif.
On the reverse, the brooch is clearly stamped with 'STERLING 925S DENMARK H.S.' and its initials, confirming the silver content and origin.
A timeless and refined piece of jewelry that can be worn as well as collected.
