Fiat - 508 Balilla 4 marce "NO RESERVE" - 1935

Fiat 508 Balilla, this car was restored in the 1980s/1990s and it wasn’t used since then, after the owner’s death. This is a 4-speed version + reverse gear with improved gearbox. The two-tone green bodywork with black mudguards is very sound and was always kept in the garage. It was preserved very well over time, of course the paint shows all the age-related patina with some signs, but this adds authenticity and a beautiful patina to the car. The collector’s feature is the originality of the engine: after almost 90 years, this car still has its original engine as shown in the FIAT tag, a true rarity! Mechanics were recently started after being checked and after cleaning the petrol and carburettor tubes, and it starts immediately. The electrical system is 12 volts, however, the radiator needs to be overhauled because there are some leaks, and brakes need to be restored although they move freely. All spare parts of this car are available at specialist dealers and we can provide a list of addresses. Interior was redone in the 1990s and has some tears that need to be repaired, as shown in photos. However, they can be used and springs are in good condition. The set of rubber mats is present and in good condition. The underbody and chassis reflect the history of the car, they are an old restoration but don’t require immediate work and any restorations are at the discretion of the new owner. Technical inspection was never done since the 1990s. The car will be delivered with a Report of Conformity carried out by a third party expert who certifies the truthfulness of the photos and description. This item is sold as a historical collector’s item. Documents in order for the transfer of ownership or export. Some videos of the car and its engine are available. A high-resolution photo gallery is also available and is part of this description, on the seller’s website. Please ask Catawiki. Bidders are also welcome to view and test the vehicle, which is located in Quarrata 51039 (PT), Italy. Please send a message to Catawiki to arrange an appointment on site; you can also book a video call from your smartphone. We can arrange transfer of ownership or exports documents remotely. Affordable shipping to Italy, Europe and rest of the world. You can also conveniently pick up the car on site, as it can stay 15 days at our storage facility free of charge. We recommend viewing the vehicle before the end of the auction, even via a video call on your smartphone (WhatsApp, FaceTime). Please send a message to Catawiki for an appointment.
