The Land Criser FJ40 was bought by the first owner in Lagos Nigeria from dealer Briscoe in 1977 (purchase receipt in the photos).  It operated in the field until 1978 when it was bought by the current owner and transformed into a school bus.  It remained in operation until the end of 1981 and then placed in a warehouse where it remained inactive.  Deregistered by the Nigerian authorities, it was imported into Italy as scrap in 1982 where it remained at its current location without ever being put into operation.  (the owner remained abroad until 2020).  Some initial restoration was undertaken in 1983 regarding the body but was never completed.  the engine was put into operation sometime in 1983 and never since.  Equipped with air conditioning and 8000 lbs winch.  No missing parts and all components are original except winch and front bumper.  the bodywork needs some work, the engine and the brakes need to be overhauled, all rubber components, hoses and gaskets to be replaced.  All the various documents have been lost over the span of these nearly 50 years.  The Owner manual and the Master Catalog with all the assembly diagrams are included.
