This MG C is a special find, it has the word SPEEDWELL on the motor and rear. MG Cs are already extremely rare and only manufactured in a limited quantity of 9002 pieces, only 3073 left-hand drive vehicles of the Roadster were produced. One of these is this MG C and it is a sought-after specimen in European delivery with a ripple-painted and un-upholstered dashboard! 
Speedwell was a tuning company taken over by Graham Hill and specialising in Austin Healey, MG and BMC. It's not known whether real "Speedwell" components were built into this vehicle. Speedwell is mentioned on an old service invoice from 1984 (photo). In the engine compartment two of the three plaques are marked with "Speedwell" and numbers. They are different from the usual Speedwell signs.
The owner of the MG was a Dutch MG dealer, who used to race with MGs. He ran an MG workshop in Badhoevedorp and Spain for 45 years (source: Haalems Dagblad, MG-garage sluit deur na 45 jaar). This owner is listed on the Heritage Certificate.

I think it's worth highlighting the good original gap dimensions, corrugations and factory welding spots in the wheel arches, which are still clearly visible. The colour "pale primrose yellow" harmonised well with the black inner furnishings and the leather seats. The buyer can decide for themselves to go for a vintage look and drive the MG C as it is, or to repaint the car. There is also a need to take action as some instruments are still out of order. In the footwell on the left I discovered a poorly repaired rust spot, otherwise I couldn't find any corrosion, apart from rust film. Someone had started preparatory work for painting, see the example on the hood, but then stopped. This car also has a hood with a hood frame.
