Austin Healey 3000 MK 1 BT7 Overdrive 1959.

Austin discovered the Healey prior to the 1952 "Earls Court Motor show" at the Donald Healey Motor Corporation booth. Leonard Lord, then Austin director, purchased the production rights from Healy before the trade show opened. The Healey was built by Donald Healey from Austin parts, which was of course ideal for Austin. Austin viewed the Healey as the answer to the Triumph TR sports car of the Standard-Triumph company. The 100/4 was the first Austin Healey.

The Healey 3000 was the successor to the Healey's 100/4 and 100/6 and was built between 1959 and 1968. The Austin Healey 3000 is also called “Big Healey” because of the powerful six-cylinder engine. 

The 3000 was the first Healey with front disc brakes and power brakes. Three different versions were released during the 8 years of production of the popular Austin-Healey 3000. These were the MK1, the MK2 and the MK3.

This Healey was completely restored in 2019 - early 2020. This can be demonstrated by the dozens of invoices that are available.

This American exported MK1 is in wonderful condition. The red paint / lacquer has a sublime appearance and this can also be said about the black interior. The interior has been fitted with new:
- Solid wood-rimmed steering wheel
- Leather seat cover kit BJ7
- Vinyl bonnet / engine bonnet AH BT7

this MK1 features the highly popular overdrive. There is a powerful 3-ltr 6-cylinder block  under the bonnet / engine bonnet, which produces 124 hp.
It has side screens, bonnet / engine bonnet and tonneau cover, items that were replaced during the restoration. They are in very good condition. The chrome work and the spoke   rims of the car look excellent.
The front and rear bumpers have been disassembled for the appearance of the car. These are available and can be refitted if so desired.

Besides the large number of invoices, a BMIHT (British Motor Industry Heritage Trust) Certificate is also included.

Over the years, the car has accumulated minor signs of wear, the photos provide the details.


The car can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands.

We can arrange export documents and transport for you as well. The car can also be insured for 2 weeks!
