Volkswagen - Transporter T3 1.9D - 1986

Nice Volkswagen Transporter T3 Surf bus. This T3 is from 1986, originally a 1.6D with ABF 4 gearbox. The original engine has been replaced by a 1.9D. This bus itself has been converted into a surf bus, that is, half a camper. Still a closed 3-seater bus on the license plate. Equipped with 220v power connection, parking heater, lighting, Westfalia camper windows at the rear, and JustKamper sliding windows in the middle. Curtains in the sleeping area. It of course has a raised floor for storage space. The T3 still has windcatchers for the side windows at the front. Reversing lamp and spotlights from the 1980s (not connected) and a tow bar. The bus had major maintenance in 2020, including the brakes, new tyres, water pump and distribution. Has been fitted with a new battery. During the last holiday, the engine unfortunately stopped. It does rotate and provides fuel to the 4 injectors, but probably has a compression problem. So it does not start! Rolls well, clutch and brakes work fine. The odometer reads 000469 km, the odometer report is present. Of course, the bodywork has been worked on in the past. The body is therefore not perfect. The paintwork has largely been rolled. However, the bus is solid at the bottom, chassis beams and sills are good. Most of the work has to be done on the wheel arch edges and the left side panel. However, no rejection for a Dutch inspection. The original booklets are included, and a single invoice for maintenance. The surfboard is not included with the bus! I can arrange any export papers at cost price. Transport for a fee in consultation. It is recommended to come and view the vehicle prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment. It can be viewed in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment.
