Donkervoort S8 2.0 1985

Donkervoort's original home was behind the small shed of his business in Tienhoven.
 A few years later, he moved to a larger location near Loosdrecht.
 In 2000, the company moved to a prominent location along the A6 in Lelystad.
 A huge showroom and production workshop emerged here.
 Donkervoort cars were equipped with Ford engines until 1999.
 Then they partnered with Audi, the post-1999 models were fitted with Audi engines as a result.


The Donkervoort S7 was the very first production car to leave the factory.
 This was equipped with a 90-hp Ford engine block paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
 The rear axle and gearbox also came from Ford.


After this S7 came the corresponding S8. This was a big improvement over its predecessor.
 It has a wider front axle, thus improving handling.
 It was powered by yet another reliable Ford engine.
 When developing the S8, Donkervoort also had an eye for the safety aspect.
 The dual brake system and the two aluminium fuel tanks mounted in front of the rear axle are examples of this.


The car in question is a 1985 Donkervoort S8.
 The Super Eight was delivered new in Germany.
 It was first registered with Dutch plates in 1999.
 The current owner has owned the car since 2010!


The body is finished in a beautiful dark red paint along with a red/black leather interior.
 The chassis plate bears the code "JD0164".
 From this, it can be seen that it is the 164th S8 built.


The two-tone 'Revolution' 5-spoke 15" LM rims provide a nice contrast to the red body colour.
 A spare wheel can be found at the back of the car.
 In addition, the car comes with removable red doors as well as a red convertible top.
 The paint of the bodywork is very nice with some light signs of use.
 This can also be said about the interior.
 The fits on both the bonnet and all other components around the car are very neat.
 Behind the leather Donkervoort steering wheel, the seven 'Jaeger' meters are clearly visible.


Under the bonnet there is a 2.0 4-cylinder engine delivering around 110 hp.
 Together with the driveable weight of only 680 kg, it drives very sporty!
