Chrysler - Chrysler Windsor Convertible Coupe - 1948

This is a very rare and original Higherlander version, with several extras and great 'Scottish tartan' fabric upholstery combined with blue leather. The top, with the original glass rear window, is also in very good condition and is electrically / hydraulically operated and fully automatic. This solid and properly restored Chrysler has been body-on restored, including engine & gearbox. It looks beautiful and has only a few user marks, but you have to look very hard to find these. In terms of both looks and technology, it is perfectly ready for its new owner to cruise with and to show off. This beautiful and very luxurious 1948 convertible is a great example of a bygone era, shortly after the 2nd World War when every brand had a real personality and was easily recognisable, even from a distance! The Windsor has VIN 70696148. The current odometer reading is 46,000 miles. Given the car is 75 years old, the car should be rated as 'total miles unknown'. However, it has been fully restored a few years ago and has driven very few kilometres after this extensive restoration. So actually in like new condition. One thing is very clear: the car has been incredibly well maintained by its limited number of owners. Details: - Both bodywork and mechanics are in very good condition. (the photos speak for themselves) - The paintwork is very clean with few minor signs of wear. - The interior is almost like new. - The top is electrically / hydraulically operated, with an original glass rear window, in very good condition. - All the chrome is in good to very good condition, no rust spots or anything like that - All gauges work - The radio works properly - The beautiful chrome searchlight can be operated from the inside Mechanics: - Spitfire 251 I6 engine, 114 hp/204 lb-ft of torque, in new condition. - Chrysler semi-automatic M-5 Fluid Drive transmission, 4 gears - Very good Coker Classic 235/75-15 radial wide whitewall tyres - New 6-volt battery - Stainless steel exhaust - Both doors, tailgate and bonnet open and close as they should Driving: The Chrysler starts easily and instantly, runs excellently. The original 6-volt system is fully operational and in excellent condition. The idling of the inline 6 is quiet and smooth. The semiautomatic transmission operates smoothly and quietly and shifts excellently. The car handles very comfortably and like a true luxury car from another time and the car is free of annoying rattles or other bodywork noises. The steering has no play and the brakes, which are all relatively new, work well. Dimensions: Length: 5353 mm / 210.75 in Width: 1975 mm / 77.75 in Wheelbase: 3086 mm / 121.5 in Weight: 1,675 kg The Chrysler Windsor Highlander is standing in Rijssen, the Netherlands.
