Saab - 900 S 2.0 Turbo - 1991
A 5-door Turbo, in red with various very cool accessories, just really nice to look at, let alone drive! Because it really does drive exceptionally well;
The suspension and steering respond very tightly and it also shifts beautifully direct, which combined with a full-pressure turbo intercooler 16V is a real treat (originally an lpt, but this has all been converted to fpt, incl new radiator, blow-off, etc!).
The transmission and final gearing are also exactly how you want it: namely with a primary 8, a somewhat higher gear which in turn ensures lower revs at any speed, so perfect as a daily driver, it works great in combination with the 185 hp engine. So you are able to move quickly in any gear, without having to change gears too much, with lower fuel consumption and a quieter ride. A very rare and expensive option. The clutch has also been recently renewed.
Furthermore, you will see some cool retro accessories when you look at the photos, namely; the not-to-be-missed 3-spoke Aero's, Saab roof racks, the valve covers, wind deflectors and a cassette holder including an original tape with 'Saab Music'. It doesn't get any more properly 90's than this.
The service history is nice and complete, and booklets and invoices have been preserved.
Everything shows that the Saab has been lovingly maintained and driven, this 900 Turbo can safely be used as a daily drive classic, one to enjoy!
In the past, the upper part of the driver's door was once painted, this has a minimal colour deviation, almost invisible. Also, the engine slightly 'sweats'. It really does drive very nicely and well.
According to the 900's maintenance / service book, it also has a very cool and appropriate delivery address: Former Linköping SAAB, right next to Linköping City Airport. This is an airport just outside Linköping, Sweden. Which, according to Wikipedia, is also (has been) co-owned by Saab. Another nod to aircraft history.
In Sweden, it had the registration number: JOD071. On 06/2020 it was bought by a Dutch enthusiast and it got its current Dutch licence plate H-278-VZ.
If you are looking for a 900 Turbo, is definitely worth coming and taking a look.
