Eén van de mooist ontworpen auto’s aller tijden: de Maserati Sebring 3500 Gti, Series 1

Deze Maserati is sinds 7 jaar in mijn bezit.

De Sebring is in de prachtige kleur Grigio Grafito met een origineel rode leren bekleding en uitstekend rijdend. Zowel de motor, de buitenkleur en het interieur zijn matching. De auto draagt het productienummer 209.

Het lakwerk is in een keurige conditie met lichte gebruikssporen passend bij de leeftijd van de auto. De passingen van de carrosseriedelen zijn keurig.

Vrijwel het gehele interieur bestaat nog uit het originele leer, waaronder stoelen, achterbank, deurpanelen, tunnel, handrem, versnellingspook en hoedenplank. Het geeft deze auto een prachtig patina en zeker in combinatie met de donkergrijze kleur (niet metallic) is dit een van de mooiste combinaties, zo niet de mooiste. De combinatie geeft de auto een geweldige uitstraling. 

Het chroomwerk buiten is in keurige conditie en grotendeels ook nog origineel. Hetzelfde geldt voor het dashboard, de tellers, de schakelaars en het stuur, alles is compleet en origineel. Zelfs het Vignaleplaatje bestemd voor de autoradio is nog op zijn plaats aanwezig.

De auto heeft de 16 inch Borani bi-metalen wielen met wieldoppen en nieuwe banden.

De auto is op 1 januari 1964 geleverd in Nice, kenteken 9194 RP 06. De Prefect van de Alpes Maritimes, Monsieur Adolphe Corat, bevestigt dit in een schrijven met de naam van de eerste eigenaar. De auto staat nu op Nederlands kenteken PM-09-67.

Het Lucas injectiesysteem is volledig gereviseerd en uitgevoerd. Ook is de auto technisch helemaal professioneel nagelopen.

Zo heeft de motor onder andere nieuwe kleppen en geleiders gekregen, de kop is gevlakt, nieuwe distributieketting, dynamo, waterpomp, radiateur en bobine zijn gemonteerd.

Ook heeft de auto compleet nieuwe remmen en is ook een nieuwe RVS uitlaat op maat gemaakt en gemonteerd. De motor is vermaard en stamt direct uit de racerij. Het betreft de 6 cylinder lijn motor, 3500 cc, 265 din PK met Lucas injectie.

Diverse foto’s van de restauratie, het spuitwerk en vervanging van mechanische onderdelen zijn aanwezig.

Al met al een prachtige auto die opvallend goed en snel rijdt in de best geleverde kleurcombinatie.
