Alfa Romeo - Alfasud 1.2 - NO RESERVE - 1981

1981 Alfa Romeo Alfasud 1.2, one owner from new. The car is in fair overall conditions and is genuine. The body is in fair conditions, shows some superficial rust but not too bad. The interior is in nice conditions considering it's age, just a little wear on driver's seat. Lower upholstery is in excellent conditions, same as door panels and headliner. The car starts, drives, shifts, brakes but has been standing still for a long time, will require a deep service before hitting the road again. The Km on the clock are believed to be original and total. He was 79 years old (born 1902) back in 1981 when the first and only owner purchased this Alfa Romeo at the local official Alfa Romeo Dealership (named SIAM, just a few meters from where he lived), paying the full list price of 8.600.200 italian Lire, that equals to approx 19.980 today's euro. He kept this car and drove it like a jewel until his death in 2001 at the age of 99, his nephews remember him talking about his Alfasud as his pride and glory. Since that the car passed in his son hands but he actually never drove it. Up to 2003 in which year he also died at the age of 81. In the same year the car has been then de-registered by the nephews of the first owner for a "Eco friendly new car bonus" and has been standing still in a garage since that day. For italian bidders only: in Italy it may require the return of the ecobonus payment for a new registration. Known defects: -the right windshield wiper is broken -the right steering stalk switch is damaged -the LCD clock does not work -brakes are spongy -tires are good in thread but old The car can be viewed and picked up in Modena, Italy.
