De Ford Mustang Fastback uit 1965 is en blijft een icoon in de automobiele geschiedenis. De meest pure en meest fraaie van alle Ford Mustangs: de 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback.

Dit exemplaar is uitgevoerd in een red over black kleurstelling en is een lust voor het hoog. De auto is al eens volledig gerestaureerd en verkeert in goede staat. Het plaatwerk is mooi dun en de passingen zijn correct. Ook de verchroomde sierlijsten sluiten overal goed aan en zien er prachtig uit. 

De auto staat op originele lichtmetalen wielen met nieuwe banden in de correcte maten. De Mustang is gespoten in het tijdloze “Rangoon Red”, de lak is tijdens de restauratie goed gespoten en verkeert nog altijd in prachtige conditie.

Het interieur is een lust voor het oog. zwart met rood klinkt misschien niet als de meest voor de hand liggende keuze als het op het samenstellen van een auto aankomt maar op een Ford Mustang Fastback klopt het gewoon. De tapijten zijn al eens vernieuwd en verkeren in goede conditie. De bekleding is eveneens al eens vernieuwd en ziet er prachtig uit. Het dashboard is keurig verzorgd en ook de instrumenten en bedieningselementen verkeren allen in goede staat en functioneren zoals het hoort.

De Mustang wordt aangedreven door de heerlijk krachtige 289 Cubic inches V8 motor die in dit geval is gekoppeld aan een automatische transmissie met drie versnellingen. De motor is onder alle toerentallen ruim voldoende krachtig voor de Mustang en klinkt subliem. De Ford Mustang heeft een bijna magisch karakter en biedt een unieke rijervaring die met niets te vergelijken is. Het rijgedrag van deze Mustang is prima voor elkaar. De remmen en het onderstel zijn prima op hun taak berekend en natuurlijk allemaal al eens vervangen.

Kortom een iconisch model uit de lange geschiedenis van de Ford Mustang die er niet alleen fantastisch uitziet maar ook een genot is om mee te rijden.
