HISTORIAL
Esta unidad fue descubierta en estado de abandono en el año 2015, que es la fecha real del inicio del proyecto. Según el número de bastidor, se pudo comprobar que el coche podía ser rehabilitado y que tenía la matrícula original de Madrid. El coche llegó a Madrid en 1954, pero no se vendió hasta un año después. Luego fue comprado por un alemán residente en Madrid, llamado Eberhard Hinderer Meise, que fue el único dueño hasta acabar en un desguace en 1975, donde fue dado de baja definitivamente.

El coste del proyecto ha superado los 30.000 € y se han empleado más de 1250 horas en finalizar el Proyecto. No se dispone de todas las facturas del proyecto, pero si existen facturas de la compra de repuesto en "Classic store parts".

Todo el trabajo se ha hecho coordinando unas 6 empresas y buscando siempre los mejores profesionales posibles. La mayoría de las piezas son nuevas y otras que no tienen mercado OFFParts, han sido compradas en sitios especializados entre particulares y coleccionistas, como SAMBA o Classicstoreparts. La documentación del coche y todas las reformas realizadas, se han realizado en conjunto con un ingeniero especializado en clásicos. El coche actualmente tiene unos 900 kms desde su restauración.

CARROCERÍA
Primero se comprobó que el chasis del coche no estaba afectado por ningún accidente. La carrocería y el chasis se encontraron en relativo buen estado.
El resto de piezas, como las 4 aletas y el portón trasero y delantero, se compraron en desguaces. Se pintó en color mate simulando los KDF de guerra. La pintura del coche es gris industrial y es una mezcla de satinado y mate.

Todos los cromados del coche son piezas nuevas, como las manillas de las puertas, retrovisores, tapacubos ,los aros de los faros, pero han sido envejecido utilizando técnicas combinadas con pintura en aerógrafo, para simular el óxido, por lo que el trabajo de pintura parece más realista, como si fuera un coche real de los años 40/50.

El conjunto de faros también es nuevo, los intermitentes se han integrado dentro de los faros delanteros, para que visualmente no rompan la línea del estilo del coche. Y los pilotos traseros se han fabricado a medida, ya que originalmente las tulipas en forma de corazón eran rojas y se han mandado hacer en ámbar, para integrar los intermitentes (El coste ha sido de 400 €). Por último se han incluido logotipos originales de los años 40 A.D.A.C. 

INTERIORES
El interior estaba en muy mal estado y se envió a una empresa especializada.
El resultado del trabajo interior es perfecto, ya que se quería recrear el interior antiguo, pero restaurando el armazón de los asientos y su espuma. Se utilizó una tela con estilo muy parecida a la época, combinando dos colores verdes. Los cinturones de seguridad se han mandado fabricar en una empresa americana, en color beige, para que quedasen acorde con el estilo del coche.

Bandeja portabultos, con cuero trenzado. Dentro de la guantera hay una toma USB, para poder cargar dispositivos. Todo los herrajes , pulsadores, palanca de cambios, volante, se han pintado en color blanco/marfil.

El conjunto de relojes del salpicadero son de Autometer Speedmeter autometer PRESTIGE SERIES Product # 2090 + gasoline meter Product # 2017, con casi más de 600€ el conjunto. El captador del cuenta kilómetros funciona por GPS y lleva una antena exterior, para que mande la señal al cuentakms. El volante es un batwin (600€) y el claxon es uno original de los años 50 (350€).

Los indicadores o testigos del cuentakilómetros, al cambiar el cuentakilómetros, se reubicaron en el centro de la parrilla interior, utilizando un mini indicador proveniente de Harley Davidson. Marca y modelo de la radio retrosound modelos Hermosa,  vintage con bluethoot y usb integrado dentro de la guantera. El equipo de sonido completamente camuflado es de Herz y tiene casi 1200w. Sistema de sonido hi-fi camuflado Herz:

El sistema completo ha costado unos 800€.


MECÁNICA
Sistema eléctrico a 12v completamente nuevo. En el trabajo de la mecánica, se decidió reemplazar el motor 1.2 por uno más moderno y de mayor cilindrada. Se utilizó un motor de 1.6cc. con doble admisión, al que se le pusieron cigüeñal aligerado, cilindros y pistones sobredimensionados, válvulas ajustadas y cortadas a medida, todo a 12v y con carburadores Webber de 40mm. El motor ahora rinde unos 65 cv, que son más que suficientes, teniendo en cuenta que el peso total del coche es de unos 700 kgs.

Caja de cambios con embrague nuevo y completamente revisado. Los frenos también han sido mejorados, con un conjunto delantero completo de un Volkswagen Escarabajo más moderno ya equipado con frenos de disco. Este se restauró por completo y todas las piezas de desgaste se cambiaron por piezas originales nuevas. Se ha renovado todo el conjunto con nuevos discos, pinzas de freno, latiguillos de freno, bomba de freno y pinzas de freno.

Se han mantenido los tambores originales en la parte trasera, pero con todos los componentes del conjunto nuevos, pastillas de freno, empujadores de tambor, etc. Los neumáticos son unos Firestone deluxe champion 5.00 x 15, que son muy similares a los que se utilizaban en los años 40, le da un aire retro perfecto para el estilo elegido, el precio de cada unidad es de 250€ aproximadamente.

El depósito de combustible original se ha sustituido por un depósito de mayor capacidad y que además lleva aforador/indicador de combustible.
