Description from the seller
Bodywork & Paintwork
This Gardner Douglas 427 MK3 is presented in excellent overall condition, showing fewer than 7,000 documented kilometers since completion. The car is built on a factory EU-spec chassis and finished to a very high standard, showcasing the craftsmanship for which Gardner Douglas is renowned.
The bodywork is straight and damage-free, with tight panel gaps and precise alignment. The paintwork presents beautifully, with a deep, even gloss and no scratches, dents, or stone chips of note. The detachable hardtop is included and fits perfectly. Brightwork and trim are in excellent condition throughout.
Mechanically & Technical Condition
Mechanically, this 427 MK3 is in outstanding condition. It is powered by the robust Ford 5.0 V8 HO EFI engine, paired with a Borg Warner 5-speed manual gearbox — a combination delivering thrilling performance with smooth and precise power delivery.
The tubular double-wishbone suspension with fully adjustable coil-over shocks ensures excellent handling and ride comfort. A stainless-steel 2.5-inch bore exhaust system provides a deep and authentic V8 sound, while the Scorpio Cosworth limited-slip differential ensures traction and stability.
The car starts easily, idles smoothly, and performs exactly as expected. Steering, braking, and suspension are tight and confidence-inspiring. Regular maintenance has been performed, with invoices included for recent servicing.
Interior
The interior is trimmed with high-quality leather seats and full carpeting, both in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. The cockpit retains a pure and functional layout, combining classic style with a refined finish. All instruments, switches, and electrical systems operate as they should.
The driving position is comfortable and supportive, suitable for both spirited driving and longer tours. The hardtop offers added versatility and weather protection when needed.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
