The hoop is of rounded D-section form, slightly tapering towards the shoulders, which expand to support the bezel. -> The inscription relates to the well-known Roman expression “Utere Felix”, meaning “Use (this) in good fortune” or “Enjoy with good luck”. Such rings were worn as personal adornment and as expressions of goodwill and prosperity.
