The hands are detailed with fine linear folds and are decorated with five raised pellets forming a cross, complete with a pin on the reverse. -> The gloves of St Thomas Becket were among the most revered relics at Canterbury, symbolising the Saint’s consecrated hands and his purity of service. Believed to possess healing powers, especially for ailments of the hands and arms, they inspired the production of pilgrim badges depicting the holy gloves. These small souvenirs served as both devotional tokens and reminders of the miracles attributed to Becket’s intercession. Size: ± 26 x 23,6 mm Condition: good and solid condition, complete with pin.
