Description from the seller
Overview / Status
Earlier Maserati Biturbo in the quite rare 2.0L version, built for the Italian market. The vehicle was delivered to its first owner in Italy on July 20, 1983. The history, as well as the mileage (see below), is at least partly verifiable and plausible based on service book entries and TÜV reports. The car was last driven in the Netherlands. The vehicle has German papers, is registered, and drives, brakes, and steers perfectly. The TÜV was renewed without issues before storage in November 2024; there is slight oil seepage at the units, which is normal for cars of this age.
The underside has been professionally sealed, so rust on the underside and supporting parts is not an issue. The bodywork has been partially repainted but is likely original in many areas. Overall, the paint is in decent condition, in Maserati's original color 'dark Aquamarine'.
The interior is in good, age-appropriate condition; the headliner is not hanging, so everything is okay.
Some things have been done, I am trying to list everything.
- new tires (less than 500 km driven)
- new gaskets for the exhaust manifold in the engine, various new lines in the engine
- new timing belt & water pump
new alternator
new valve cover gaskets
new clutch slave cylinder
- new windshield (during which the windshield frame was welded because it was rusted)
I also have various spare parts (mostly small parts), as well as a brand new pair of rear shock absorbers. Additionally, a perfect parcel shelf and center armrest (see below), and a complete dashboard (instrument cluster).
The Biturbo doesn't have an H license plate; it was denied because of a few minor issues. No big deal.
- The left door trim is missing a piece of the wood imitation (it is present, it just needs to be glued properly).
s. picture
- Middle armrest leather torn on the side — needs to be reupholstered or repaired (I have another one, but it's also not perfect; maybe I can make one from two or reupholster it).
The shelf broke (I have a new one, it just needs to be replaced).
Other defects that I am aware of, which were not flagged by the TÜV but might need to be addressed.
- The KM counter is no longer turning. The speedometer itself works. It can either be repaired or the dashboard replaced (as mentioned above).
- Some displays on the dashboard are not working, including temperature (possibly also resolved by replacing the dashboard).
Choke lever mount broken. It can probably be repaired with some skill or replaced; it's not nice, but the H registration might be relevant. The car still starts; you just need to pull out the choke cable.
- Gas pressure springs for the trunk are not functioning (I bought new ones, they should fit).
- Air conditioning: I'm not sure if it works. The fan runs, but I never paid attention to whether it cools, as I never drove in hot weather. The heater definitely works.
- Light rust beginning on the front left fender, as well as on the left side of the window frame (see pictures), appears to be only superficial.
A very unique vehicle with a few minor flaws that can be fixed with a bit of work and skill, resulting in a wonderful little gem.
The vehicle can be viewed and test-driven in advance.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
