General
About the highly advanced Porsche 928 of its time, there is much to say. What many people do not know is that the 928 was originally intended to succeed the legendary 911 series. Fortunately, that never materialized. Although the 928 became a relatively successful model, the traditional 911 remained continuously popular and in production. The production of the 928 began in 1978, and the example we offer is an early-built model from that same year. The vehicle was originally delivered in Germany and is equipped with various factory options, including electrically adjustable side mirrors, electrically adjustable seats, an electric antenna, air conditioning, and tinted windows.
Bodywork & Paint Shop
All body parts fit together nicely, and the car is completely rust-free. The color scheme is particularly beautiful: 'Hellblau Metallic' combined with original light alloy wheels. This color, along with the distinctive Pasha interior, makes this example visually very attractive. The engine compartment is dry and neatly maintained. The dashboard is free of cracks and in good condition.
Technical
The car is in excellent mechanical condition. Recently, major maintenance was carried out by a recognized 928 specialist. This included replacing the timing belt, water pump, oil, oil filter, and various other components. An invoice of €3,500 is available. Additionally, the clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, and battery have been recently replaced. The engine runs smoothly, the car shifts precisely, and the braking system functions powerfully and reliably. Unlike many other 928s, which are often equipped with an automatic transmission, this example features the rare and desirable manual 'Dogleg' transmission, known for its sporty character and direct driving experience.
INTERIOR:
The interior of this Porsche 928 is finished in the striking Pasha pattern, with blue accents that perfectly match the exterior color. This interior is not only rare but also in neat and original condition. The four seats offer comfort for driver and passengers, and the equipment is extensive: including air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, and electrically adjustable mirrors. Everything functions properly and contributes to the high comfort level of this sporty GT.
Documents
The vehicle comes with comprehensive documentation, including a manual from 1979, various maintenance invoices, and an official Car-Pass that verifies the low mileage of 105,589 km. The maintenance history is well-organized and carefully maintained.
AFHALING
The car is immediately available and can be picked up by appointment. Thanks to recent maintenance, this Porsche 928 is ready for use without further investment.
Other Information
This beautiful Porsche 928 from 1978 is an excellent example of an early and carefully maintained model. The combination of the rare manual transmission, the unique color scheme, and the original Pasha interior make this car a sought-after youngtimer and a valuable addition to any collection. The driving characteristics are impressive, blending sportiness with comfort and durability. In short: a timeless classic, richly equipped and ready to enjoy.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
