STORY / OVERVIEW
The Mini Morris 850 MKI is a revolutionary compact designed to offer maximum livability and spirited driving in a small footprint, thanks to innovative solutions such as front-wheel drive and transversely mounted engine. The 1965 example on offer is in beautiful condition, professionally restored, and fitted with the 848 cc engine, ensuring agile and reliable driving, in the “Super” spec in Amaranto color with beige interior trim; this Mini is one of the most iconic cars of the 1960s.
EXTERIOR
In the original Amaranto color, the paintwork has been recently restored by the previous owner and presents in superb condition with minimal signs of use and aging: even the chrome is polished and in good condition, as are the various original details. A polishing and detailing session has just been completed.
The underbody is in solid condition and was restored a few years ago, road-legal and compliant.
INTERIOR
The interiors are in beautiful condition, complete and restored while maintaining originality, including the dashboard and steering wheel. They show only minimal signs of use and aging, and the headliner is in good original condition like all the typical details of this series. An sanitizing treatment has just been completed.
MECHANICS
Mechanically, the car retains its original birth motor of 848 cc, well functioning and restored: the clutch and gears operate correctly, as do the brakes, and the technical inspection has just passed without faults found. However, the car had been in a private collection for several years and has covered very few miles recently. Although it passed the technical inspection, a service tune-up is recommended before usual use, especially for long distances.
A rare first-series example, delivered new in Italy and well restored, is truly rare and a very interesting collectible item, particularly in factory Amaranto color.
