AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

GENERAL:

Wow what a beauty is this fantastic Volkswagen T1 Samba bus from 1973. Equipped with a completely new luxury camper interior. Rare color scheme, samba with 23 windows, pop-out windows and a sunroof.

BODYWORK:

This original VW T1 comes from Brazil and was converted there a few years ago from a standard van into a beautiful camper with a luxurious new interior. It is not an original Samba but a beautiful replica with all the details, such as the 23 windows, sunroof and safari pop-out windows at the front. The two-tone combination "orange-red with black roof" looks very splendid and refers to the old Volkswagen T1 vans from the 1950s.

TECHNICAL:

This T1 has the well-known air-cooled 1500 cc engine with 4 cylinders. The engine has been removed, inspected, and painted in color. The engine runs smoothly and the transmission shifts as it should.

INTERIOR:

Inside is a luxurious new camper interior installed. Everything you could wish for a ride in a T1 van, and even a night to sleep in it, is present. A new refrigerator, fold-out table, dining table in the bus itself, clever storage compartments under the benches and of course the seats. Using the well-known "rock 'n roll" system the backrest can be laid flat, creating a bed. The seats and benches are black upholstered and match the van. The door panels and even new curtains are created in the complementary style. Even the wheels are color-matched with white-walls, of course with the chrome hubcaps.

The list is certainly not exhaustive, but in recent years the following work has been carried out:

* new camper interior
* floor painted in black coating
* bumpers painted in black gloss with red details
* new seats and seatbelts installed, both driver, passenger and bench
* bodywork repainted in black with orange-red color
* double chrome with wood imperial and side step installed
* curtains black with red details installed
* white walls with chrome hubcaps
* matching black mirrors installed
* new chrome VW logo at the front
* new black refrigerator installed
* new black steering wheel installed
* engine removed and painted

DOCUMENTS:

This van was imported from Brazil and still has Brazilian license plates. All import duties have been paid and the customs documents are of course provided. The van is sold "as is".

OTHER:

This is a Brazilian restoration from a few years ago; the ample amount of photos provides a good impression of its condition. Before the van is "road ready" there will be a few adjustments to meet all European requirements. We therefore advise budgeting 10% additional costs (guidance) for example checking brakes and bearings, electrical work, fitting European headlights, etc. This is a private sale, so no warranty applies. The van must be collected within 14 days after the auction."

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration.
