Very large traditional Batik Stamp 23 x 23cm old Indonesian copper Tjap Printing Block for manufacturing batik Sarong

Big (23cm!) batik stamp originating from Java, Indonesia. It has been carefully built up from strips of copper that are soldered on a frame. This item has been used for several years, dating back to 1900. You may expect some wear and tear consistent with that, but this makes a rare, hard to find object for anyone related to textile and textile printing, cultural items and blockprinting. Stands on modern black custom made stand and rises the object to a height of ca 40cm.
