Vincenzo Lancia was first a pioneer in the field of racing (racing driver), then a builder. He was not an engineer but introduced many innovations to the automotive industry, such as the 1923 Lambda, the first car with monocoque structure, hydraulic brakes and independent front suspension.

For years, Lancia had saloon models in the range from large to small: the Astura and the Augusta, the Aprilia and the Ardea, the Aurelia and the Appia - later the Flavia and the Fulvia.

The style of the Appia was inspired by the Aurelia and was produced in three series from 1953. The third series was launched in 1959 and had a modern rectangular grille instead of the traditional Lancia 'shield': the design came from the Flaminia which was launched in 1957.

The Appia is equipped with an innovative V4 of 1090 cm3.

Access is very easy due to the lack of a 'B' pillar and the car could seat six people.

More than 29 years ago, this very beautiful Lancia Appia was exported from Italy to the Netherlands. A large amount of money has been invested in the Appia over the past 9 years. The maintenance was, among other things, in the hands of the very well-known German Lancia specialist of B&F Touring Garage, with many invoices. Mechanically, the car is in an excellent condition and in a good working condition.

The colour combination was very tastefully done, the bodywork was painted in light blue. A very nice contrast with the beige interior.

The paintwork and the bodywork are in a good condition. The sills, fenders, doors, bonnet and boot lid have a good fit and are very beautiful.
The complete Lancia on-board tool set completes the picture.
