Jaguar - XK8 - 2003

A beautiful and well-driving Jaguar XK8 convertible. To me, this is the ultimate convertible, and the last true Jaguar. Soon it will be spring again and it will be a lovely experience to drive this convertible in open condition. The Jaguar was imported from Tampa Florida USA in 2009. Due to the favourable climate there, the car is still flawless, there is absolutely no rust! The car has never been treated with underseal, so all of the details at the bottom look neat. With the introduction of various Jaguar models, the 4-ltr V8 engines were installed, it soon became apparent that these engines had the so-called Nicosil problem, the hard chrome cylinder liner crumbled as a result of sulphur in the petrol. The first series of V8 engines also had problems with the plastic timing chain tensioners, in the replaced engines these were replaced by metal chain tensioners. In the end, Jaguar had to replace many of these engines under warranty, including this Jaguar XK8. The engine was replaced by Jaguar under warranty in the year 2006, at 53,000 miles (84,000 km). Papers are available for inspection. The current odometer reading is 110,000 Miles (176,000 km), so the car has driven 92,000 km after the engine replacement. The automatic gearbox shifts clean and smoothly. The leather interior looks neat and original, the car has a built-in CD changer in the trunk. The hydraulically operated soft top works without problems, and there is a tonneau cover that can be attached over the folded linen hood. Paintwork: the first paint / lacquer is original and neat. The tires are practically new. The car has always been maintained, last year the MAF sensor was replaced and the ABS sensor on the right front wheel. This is actually a super cool and technically very healthy Jaguar XK8, which can still be driven for many carefree kilometres. The MOT is valid until 25 August 2023.
