Deze MG TD is gebouwd op 19 mei 1952 en hebben wij kunnen bemachtigen van een echte liefhebber. In 2006 onderging deze prachtige MG TD een volledige restauratie, waarvan gedetailleerde foto's getuigen van het vakmanschap dat erin is gestoken. Kosten noch moeite zijn gespaard om deze TD goed rijdend en betrouwbaar te maken. Het chassis en de carrosserie hebben een schadevrij en roestvrij verleden. De MG is nieuw geleverd in Amerika. Door het droge klimaat is de auto goed en origineel gebleven. De laatste eigenaar in Amerika heeft de MG meer dan 20 jaar in bezit gehad. Deze eigenaar heeft op handgeschreven notities alle reparaties bijgehouden, maar ook alle originele facturen bewaard.

Deze MG TD is tijdloos en uniek, met zijn diepzwarte lak, levendig rood lederen interieur en beige linnen soft-top. De zwarte tapijten en het originele houten dashboard dragen bij aan de luxe uitstraling van het interieur. Nieuwe 15-inch gecoate multispaak velgen met bijpassende vleugelmoeren. De rode grille hoort bij het rode interieur, precies zoals de ontwerper het bedacht heeft. De restauratie heeft gezorgd voor perfect hang- en sluitwerk en een hoogwaardige uitstraling.

Onder de motorkap vind je een krachtige 1250cc 4-cilinder motor. De handgeschakelde 4-versnellingsbak is vervangen door een 5-versnellingsbak wat er voor zorgt dat de rijervaring veel relaxter is. Kortom voldoende vermogen en uitstekende prestaties.

Het kofferrek, de koplampbeschermers, tonneaucover, zijruiten, de twee extra gele mist lampen en het Nicson spruitstuk zijn fraaie accessoires die uw tourritjes nog plezieriger en makkelijker maken.

Deze MG TD is goed gedocumenteerd, met diverse instructieboekjes, handleidingen, facturen, taxatierapporten en registratiepapieren. Zelfs een 'Certificate of Title' uit 1984 uit Illinois, Verenigde Staten, is beschikbaar.
Recente werkzaamheden omvatten rondom Michelin banden (inclusief reservewiel), belangrijke motorverbeteringen en een uitgebreide algehele inspectie. Deze duiden als volgt:

- Modificatie-set achterste krukas afdichting gemonteerd
- Oliekeerring aan voorzijde krukas gemonteerd
- Nieuwe krukaspoelie gemonteerd
- Nieuwe waterpomp gemonteerd
- Bedrading ten behoeve van bobine aangepast
- Bouten in flexibele koppeling stuur as gewijzigd
- Nieuwe v-riem gemonteerd
- Spansteun uitgelijnd
- Nieuw oliefilter & uitlaatrubber

De MG TD straalt klasse en stijl uit. Kwam op de markt in 1950 en was de opvolger van de MG TC. Net als voor de MG TC was Amerika voor de TD de belangrijkste afzetmarkt. Onderstel en carrosserie van de TD kwamen in grote lijnen overeen met die van de TC, de TD beschikte echter over een tandheugel-stuurinrichting en onafhankelijke wielophanging vóór. De spatborden waren anders van vorm omdat de grote 19" spaakwielen van de TC plaats hadden gemaakt voor 15" wielen. De MG TD werd gebouwd tot 1953 en opgevolgd door de MG TF.

Deze MG TD uit 1952 is niet alleen een auto, maar een kunstwerk op wielen. Als je op zoek bent naar een tijdloze klassieker met geschiedenis en stijl. Dit is een kans die je niet mag missen om een stukje autogeschiedenis te bezitten.

Het kan zijn dat deze MG lichte gebruikerssporen heeft opgelopen, zie foto's.
