Jaguar MkII Saloon 1961

Een ideale combinatie van klassiek design en hedendaags comfort en rijeigenschappen: dat is wat deze Jaguar MkII te bieden heeft. 

Deze prachtige, stijlvolle saloon is in 1961 geleverd in links-gestuurde uitvoering. In 1995 is de auto in Nederland geïmporteerd. In 2001 is de auto overgegaan naar de volgende eigenaar die de auto op veel fronten heeft laten verbeteren door een Jaguar-specialist: de totale investering inclusief de auto zelf bedroeg maar liefst 115.000 gulden. 

Zo is de auto voorzien van een geventileerd remsysteem, airconditioning, moderne stoelen en een krachtigere 4.2-liter 6-cilinder motor. De airco is nieuw maar moet gevuld worden met koelmiddel. De 4.2 liter motor is afkomstig uit een XJ6 en levert maar liefst 220 pk. Daarnaast is de auto opnieuw gespoten en is een versnellingsbakrevisie uitgevoerd. De factuur hiervan is aanwezig, evenals van het later uitgevoerde onderhoud. 

Andere opties waarmee de auto is uitgerust zijn stuurbekrachtiging, centrale deurvergrendeling en een radio/cd-speler.

Dankzij de aanpassingen is de Jaguar een zeldzame verschijning: een prachtige klassieker maar ook praktisch om dagelijks te kunnen gebruiken. Of denk aan een vakantie of roadtrip. 

Deze auto brengt u in stijl, comfort en dankzij het zuinige LPG-systeem relatief goedkoop naar de bestemming. De samenstelling is ook nog eens bijzonder fraai in donkergroen met beige lederen bekleding en chromen spaakwielen. De staat is erg mooi zonder roest en met mooie passingen van carrosseriedelen. 

Kortom, een unieke kans om kilometers te gaan maken met deze Jaguar waar niet op bezuinigd is. 

Algemene informatie over de Jaguar MkII
De MkII werd in 1959 door Jaguar geïntroduceerd als luxueuze maar ook sportieve sedan als opvolger van de 2.4- en 3.4-liter modellen. De sedan met goede rijeigenschappen werd origineel geleverd met keuze uit drie zescilindermotoren met dubbele nokkenassen: 2.4-liter, 3.4-liter of 3.8-liter. 

Daarnaast is hij uitgerust met de nieuwe Dunlop schijfremmen rondom in plaats van trommelremmen. Door de goede prestaties heeft de MkII veel succes behaald op het circuit, waar sommige nog steeds voor worden gebruikt. Enkele beroemde namen die succes hebben behaald zijn Stirling Moss, Bruce McLaren Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori en Michael Parkes.
