De Triumph TR4: een populaire roadster zoals hij hoort te zijn: lichtgewicht, wendbaar en een genot om mee te rijden. Gecombineerd met een schitterend Italiaans design. Italiaans design op een Engelse auto, vraagt u zich af? Jazeker: het ontwerp kwam van de hand van de Michelotti, die voor diverse carrosseriebouwers en merken zoals Ferrari en Maserati legendarische ontwerpen heeft verschaft. 

Een plaatje om te zien, zeker het door ons aanboden exemplaar in prachtige donkerblauwe kleur. De auto is in 1963 gebouwd en nieuw geleverd in Californië, waar het klimaat zeer gunstig is. In 2024 is de auto geïmporteerd naar Nederland. In het verleden is de auto gerestaureerd. Het zwart lederen interieur is nog in nette staat, de bekleding is vernieuwd. 

De auto is technisch goed op orde en rijdt, remt en schakelt zoals het hoort.

Het zwarte skaileer contrasteert fraai met de witte stiksels en het witte dashboard. Het grote, bijna verticaal geplaatste stuur en sierlijke grote tellers maken het interieur tot een fijne plek. Het canvas cabriodak is in het verleden vernieuwd en is vrij van scheuren. Een mooie kans om een fraai uitgevoerde en goed rijdende TR4 te bemachtigen.

Uiteraard heeft deze Triumph gebruikerssporen opgelopen, zie foto's. Enkele kleine lakbeschadigingen. U bent van harte welkom om deze auto in onze showroom te komen bezichtigen en eventueel een proefrit te maken voor dat u biedt.

Ook de exportdocumenten en het transport kunnen wij voor u regelen. Een verzekering voor 2 weken is ook mogelijk.

Algemene informatie over de Triumph TR4 

De TR4 is een sportauto geproduceerd van 1961 tot en met 1965 en is de opvolger van de TR3. Onderhuids is de TR4 grotendeels gelijk aan de TR4, maar dankzij een langere wielbasis beschikt de TR4 over meer ruimte. De grotere deuren bieden plaats aan naar beneden draaibare zijramen, in tegenstelling tot de TR3. 

Vooral optisch is de TR4 anders dan de TR3: een stoere en grote grille en strakke lijnen. Kenmerkend is de bult op motorkap, die plaats biedt aan de twee carburateurs. De 4-cilinder motor is opgeschroefd 2138cc, Dankzij de sportieve rijeigenschappen werden een aantal TR4's destijds gebruikt door de Engelse politie. 

Door de korte productieperiode van de TR4 zijn relatief weinig exemplaren gebouwd: zo'n 40.000 exemplaren. Van de TR3 zijn ongeveer dubbel zoveel verkocht, evenals van de TR6. Van de TR4 is maar liefst 94% geleverd in de Verenigde Staten.
