The following work was then carried out on the vehicle. The brake system was completely overhauled, with new brake cylinders, brake pads, brake discs at the front, brake master cylinder, brake hoses and some new lines. The hydraulic clutch was also replaced. The front axle was given new bearings and all wearing parts were replaced. The steering was also replaced, the axle geometry measured and adjusted. The rear axle was resealed. The engine/gearbox unit was removed, the gearbox partially sealed and the engine completely dismantled. The engine block, cylinder head and all attached parts were chemically stripped of paint and rust, and the attached parts were either coated or galvanised. The engine block and cylinder head were pressure-tested in a water bath. The engine was completely overhauled with new pistons, valves, bearing shells, timing chains, etc. All wear parts and seals were replaced. The crankshaft was converted to a rear simmering. The clutch was replaced and the clutch actuation was repaired. After installing the engine/transmission unit, the car was test driven for about 600 km and then the first engine service was carried out. The vehicle was handed over in October 2018. Fa.
