Présentation

La voiture présente ce qui semble être une peinture bleu clair code usine 04 et les enjoliveurs semblent être standard sur les jantes en acier de 15 pouces.

Dehors

Notez les orifices d'échappement frappants moulés directement dans le pare-chocs arrière et le renflement notable du couvercle du coffre. Il s’agissait du premier exemple de ce qui allait bientôt être appelé un « kit continental », un terme générique utilisé dans toute l’industrie. Comme sa forme le suggère, il offre la possibilité de placer une roue de secours verticalement en dessous.

La carrosserie est en bon état, mais il faut noter que le capot doit être réglé et monté correctement pour que l'ajustement soit correct. Des imperfections sont visibles à plusieurs endroits sur le véhicule, qui sont principalement le résultat de l'utilisation du véhicule au cours des dernières décennies.
La serrure du coffre doit être remplacée.
L'ancien propriétaire avait fait repeindre la voiture, mais n'a pas pu le faire pour des raisons de santé.

Intérieur

L'intérieur semble également avoir été réalisé avec une grande précision, avec des matériaux et des équipements restés fidèles à l'état d'origine.

Les passagers arrière disposent d'un espace généreux pour les hanches, la tête et les jambes, ce qui rend la voiture idéale pour les longs trajets, même avec une charge complète de quatre personnes. Notez les bouches d'aération dans le pavillon, qui indiquent que cette voiture est équipée de la climatisation installée en usine. À 600 $, c'était la seule option sur le Mark II.

Les phares, les clignotants, les klaxons et les divers instruments fonctionnent ; Il est conseillé de vérifier tous les instruments pour s'assurer qu'ils fonctionnent correctement.
Le système de climatisation a été démonté et ne fonctionne donc pas.
Les vitres sont électriques et fonctionnelles, sauf la vitre arrière droite.

Mécanique

La Mark II a été construite sur un châssis en Y spécialement conçu pour accueillir la carrosserie basse. Les composants mécaniques provenaient en grande partie de la division Lincoln et étaient contrôlés plus étroitement par le programme de contrôle qualité plus rigoureux de Continental.

Il s'agissait notamment d'un V8 OHV de 368 pouces cubes, le seul moteur disponible sur le modèle, qui produisait 15 chevaux supplémentaires, portant le total à 300 chevaux en 1957. Le couple était de 415 lb-pi, transmis en douceur et en silence aux roues arrière via une transmission automatique à trois vitesses.

La voiture roule bien, les vitesses passent en douceur ; Il convient toutefois de noter que le réglage du carburateur est nécessaire et peut parfois s'avérer difficile.
Les joints du maître-cylindre doivent être remplacés, les défauts entraîneront de mauvaises performances de freinage. Le kit est disponible pour environ 167 euros sur un site spécialisé.

Le véhicule est stocké dans une collection privée depuis 20 ans. Il est donc nécessaire de le redémarrer et de réparer les pièces nécessaires.

Les documents fournis sont le titre américain ainsi que tous les documents d'importation indiquant les taxes et autres droits d'importation ont bien ete payes.
