"Don't judge a book by its cover". De eerste indruk van deze prachtige en originele Volkswagen T1 Panel uit 1959 is namelijk "patina" en "oud". Tot je verder kijkt naar alle upgrades!

Het kleine achterraam, de typische ronde achterlichten of de puntige richtingaanwijzers... Dit is onmiskenbaar een 50's T1 bus, en die zijn zeer zeldzaam. Deze fraaie T1 is dan ook een originele, Duits gebouwde, T1 panelvan (type 21). Gebouwd in februari 1959 en vervolgens in Amerika verkocht. Uiteraard met het bekende, kleine achterraampje. Het kreeg in de jaren '60 zijn kenmerkende looks als bedrijfswagen van "Graves Electrical & Co". Dit bedrijf bestaat nog steeds in Dickinson, Texas, Amerika. Een droge streek waar het busje 55 jaar van zijn leven doorbracht, waardoor hij in zulke goede staat is gebleven. 

De bus is in 2015 geïmporteerd uit de Verenigde Staten naar Nederland. Na 5 jaren aan herstellingen is de bus in februari 2020 goed gekeurd bij het RDW keuringstation in Nederland, inclusief volledige technische keuring (toelating + APK keuring). Vanwege zijn leeftijd heeft de bus geen nieuwe APK meer hoeven ondergaan. 

De volgende werkzaamheden zijn destijds gedaan:

Onderzijde volledig gelast waar nodig. Zo is een nieuwe cabinevloer geplaatst, nieuwe draagdelen boven linkervoorwiel en rechtervoorwiel, nieuwe kriksteunen, nieuwe accubak (rechtsachter) en nieuwe platen (linksachter). Onderzijde van laaddeuren zijn voorzien van nieuwe delen. Alles professioneel door expert gedaan. 

De dwarsbalken en lengtebalken zijn nog volledig origineel en in goede conditie (en dus ook technisch goed gekeurd!). Alles is zichtbaar, niets weggestopt of dicht gesmeerd. What you see is what you get, 

Bovenzijde (carrosserie) is behandeld met Owatrol: een blanke lak voor bescherming en protectie, zodat deze patina look beschermd en behouden blijft. Gezien de 66 jaar oude staat, vol patina én zonder door geroeste delen, ervaren we dit als kwaliteit 2.

Versmalde en verstelbare vooras geplaatst. Voor de fraaie look is de achteras 1 tandje verlaagd

BRM velgen 15inch geplaatst met nieuwe banden (in 2020). Bus is weinig mee gereden sindsdien (+1x origineel reservewiel met nieuwe band)

Mechanisch, elektrisch en cosmetisch helemaal nagezien. Waar nodig alles vernieuwd, facturen allemaal aanwezig van ruim € 7500,00!

Voor extra betrouwbaarheid is een niet originele, periode correcte 1200cc motor geplaatst. Deze zweet iets maar loopt en start uitstekend. Motor en elektrisch systeem is volledig omgebouwd naar 12 volt. 12V verlichting geïnstalleerd, dus veel betere verlichting, zichtbaarheid en veiligheid

Nieuwe richtingaanwijzer systeem geïnstalleerd

Alle elektrische systemen herstelt en/of bijgewerkt. Zelfs interieurverlichting werkt. 

Originele versnellingsbak met de originele vertragingskast aanwezig en schakelt goed

Stuurhuis beschermer en stuurdemper geplaatst

Wielaslagers voor vervangen + keerringen vervangen

Fuseekogels voor vervangen

Remsysteem nagelopen, inclusief nieuw remvloeistof reservoir

Nieuwe remleiding voor naar achter 

Custom made Amerikaans dakrek, volle lengte, inclusief decoratieve ladder

Blazecut blus systeem in motorruimte

Authentiek geel mistlicht aan voorzijde geplaatst (decoratief)

Nieuwe verwarmingsbuis onder bus

Nieuwe uitlaat vanaf de einddemper

Nieuwe startmotor

Interieur is uitgebreid om mee te nemen voor een nachtje weg. Het bekende Rock n roll bed is geplaatst met kussen, volledig nieuwe bekleding in 2020. Ook zijn nieuwe gordijntjes gemaakt en geplaatst. Zo kun je dus ook overnachten in deze beauty!

Voorstoelen nieuw gevuld en nieuw bekleed, passend bij het design van het Rock 'n roll bed

Volledige audio inclusief versterker is aanwezig, met bekabeling en subwoofer. Alleen nog een moderne radio installeren ;-) 

Het busje is intern volledig bekleed met houten panelen van Rickys buspanels afgewerkt. Het hout is nabehandeld. Zowel alle deuren, wanden én hemeltje zijn gedaan.

Sinds alle werkzaamheden is nog geen 800 miles (1250km) gereden.

Al met al een prachtige bus en een echte aandacht trekker tijdens elke tocht of autoshow. Een ideale bus om zo verder te rijden. Of misschien zoek je een beauty om verder te restaureren en in een geweldige kleur te spuiten?

De bus is voorzien van een geldig Nederlands kenteken, en kan overal in Europa op kenteken worden gezet. Het busje is in 2020 APK gekeurd bij het RDW keuring station. Vanwege de leeftijd (66 jaren oud) hoeft deze bus in Nederland nooit meer APK gekeurd te worden. 

Het busje wordt "as is" verkocht. Het gaat om een privé verkoop, garantie is dan ook niet van toepassing. Het busje staat in Delden, Nederland. Busje dient binnen 14 dagen na veiling opgehaald te worden.
