Seven Pillars of Wisdom is the autobiographical account of the experiences of British soldier T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), while serving as a liaison officer with rebel forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks of 1916 to 1918.

Item Description
Only 170 complete copies of the first edition of 1926 were privately printed primarily for family and friends. This copy is the second impression, August 1935 of the first edition for general circulation printed in July 1935. 

The book includes an introduction, 10 books, 2 appendix of ‘Nominal Roll’ Places, Personal Names, and Index. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece of Lawrence, 53 Full page portraits, and 4 folding maps. 

Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1935. Original Sand-coloured cloth, spine lettered in gilt, upper board with centre gilt motto of double crossed swords ('The sword also means clean-ness and death'). Top page edges gilt.

Book Dimensions: 26 x 20 x 5 cm and Number of Pages: 672 including 2 appendix and index
Weighing in excess of 2 kilograms.

Condition
The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers are in nice shape, with some faded spots. Internally the book is in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Pages are clean, with occasional light foxing on the margin of some pages, and page edges. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. The text and plates are clean and bright (Nice Copy) (Please see pictures).
