History
Unique in the Netherlands: this MG B Roadster Limited Edition, of which only 420 units were built, exclusively for the British market and thus right-hand drive. It is the last series of the MG B ever produced, at a time when MG B production had already essentially ceased. Back then, interested parties were entered into a lottery to become the owner of a Limited Edition. The current owner of this car had registered for a GT (coupe), of which 580 units were made, but was unsuccessful. His brother, who lives in England, was more fortunate in the registration for a roadster and became the owner of this unit. After four years of enjoying the car, it was transferred to the current owner: an MG collector in the Netherlands with decades of experience owning multiple MGs. The car was registered in the Netherlands in 1988 and has always been cherished and well maintained. It has mainly been used for touring drives, which has kept the mileage relatively low at 52,416 miles (84,355 km). Unlike many other examples, this unit has been preserved in very original condition. Because it is a late-built model, many consider it to be the best-driving MG B.
Exterior
All 420 built roadsters are originally finished in bronze metallic paint with gold striping on the sides and orange upholstery. A beautiful and retro color combination. This example is damage- and rust-free and still retains its original paint. The rubbers, lighting, and chrome work are in good condition. The overall visual condition is good, with only minimal signs of use. The left rear screen has slight rust formation on the lower edge, which, like the entire underside, has been coated with a protective layer (conserved). Characteristic of the later B models are the front spoiler and the popular 4-spoke alloy wheels, which are also still in good condition. The soft top is in good condition without tears or damage, and the latching mechanism functions well.
Interior
An eye-catching interior due to the orange seat upholstery with brown stripes, as originally supplied. The interior is also in an original and good condition. Thanks to the year of manufacture, it is equipped with comfortable features such as a center armrest, a steering wheel covered in leather, heating, and a Pioneer radio/cassette player. The many gauges on the dashboard include, among others, an oil temperature gauge and a clock. The synchronized 4-speed gearbox has an overdrive, which provides a pleasant '5th gear'. The trunk space accommodates the spare wheel.
TECHNICAL
Technically, the MG is well maintained and starts, drives, and shifts excellently. The tires around are almost new, and the APK is valid until February 6, 2027. In short: a very original example of a car that is unique in the Netherlands!

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
