Este es un icono ruso ortodoxo de Cristo Pantocrátor con oklad (o riza), una cubre-icono metálica,  que protege y embellece la pintura original.

 Qué se ve en el icono

Cristo Pantocrátor: Cristo como “Señor Todopoderoso”.

Bendición con la mano derecha (aunque parte está perdida).

Libro abierto en la mano izquierda con un texto bíblico en eslavo eclesiástico.

Nimbo crucífero con las letras griegas Ο ΩΝ (“El que Es”), título divino de Dios revelado a Moisés.

Se entrega certificado de autenticidad, avalado por el Ministerio de Cultura de Estonia

Marco metálico decorado con motivos florales y geométricos.

Es típico encontrar iconos así: la riza protegía principalmente rostro y manos, que se dejaban abiertos, pero si no se mantenía seca, la humedad podía dañar la pintura.

Época del Imperio ruso, producción de talleres urbanos como Moscú o San Petersburgo.

La parte inferior del marco dice:

IC XC — Cristo
(Abreviatura tradicional del nombre de Jesús en griego: Ιησούς Χριστός)

El texto del Evangelio en el libro suele ser uno de los pasajes más habituales en pantocrátores:

“Venid a Mí todos los que estáis cansados y cargados…”
o
“Yo soy la Luz del mundo…”
