Simca Fiat - Barchetta Sport - 1937

Simca 8 (Huit) replica Sport Competition from 1937. Based on the French version of the Fiat 1100, this racing car in the sports category (chassis no. 01213349) was built by an anonymous but skilled craftsman. With a very light and sleek two-seater aluminium Barchetta Spider body in the shape of a “torpedo” with motorcycle-type mudflaps and an engine (type 112, number 0042) developed with two Weber carburettors. It has not been possible to retrace its history. It reappeared in the early 2000s in Austria where it was regularly registered, was then imported into Italy by the last owner and underwent a slight restoration and then re-registered with the current license plate in July 2010. Since then it has taken part in numerous rallies, re-enactments and regularity circuit races at which it has always been much admired. With ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) approval and the Italian Fiat Register. The car can be viewed and picked up in L’Aquila Giaveno (province of Turin).
