BMW - E23 745i Turbo Executive - 1985

This very rare BMW is the top-of-the-range version, the code 745i E23 was the first BMW turbo saloon, and it launched the sports flagship series. It is extremely rare in the version with ‘Buffalo’ Executive interior. From the research of enthusiasts, only 396 units were produced. In addition, this is a version with displacement increased to 3430 cc, called ‘Series 2’ and produced only between 1985 and 1986. This car has a very peculiar history: only one owner since 1988, an industrialist who then went bankrupt; it remained unused since 2007 (involved in judicial bankruptcy) and only in 2019 was it duly sold after being locked in a shed for over 30 years. The history is, in fact, also documented on the report supplied with the car. This also explains the very low mileage. The bodywork still has its fully original paint, with some signs of age, but it is truly amazing to find the original paint and the original TRX tyres on such a car, ‘Cars are original only once’. Mechanical-wise, the car was reactivated by the previous owner, including a new overhauled Garrett turbine and silicone sleeves. The car can be driven, however, an overall fine-tuning and service are needed before any regular use on the road. The very rare ‘Buffalo’ Executive interior is in excellent and original condition (including dashboard) and all the on-board equipment, including the rare computer, is present, with the front wipers as well! Original underbody with no traces of significant accidents and with normal signs of use consistent with the age of the car. It is very well preserved, given the car has been kept covered for over 30 years. Technical inspection of the car expired in 2007. Documents in order for the transfer of ownership or export. Some videos of the car, engine and road driving are available. A high-resolution photo gallery is also available and is part of this description, on the seller’s website. Please ask Catawiki. Bidders are also welcome to view and test the vehicle, which is located in Quarrata 51039 (PT), Italy. Please, send a message to Catawiki to arrange an appointment on site; you can also book a video call from your smartphone. We can arrange transfer of ownership or exports documents remotely. Affordable shipping to Italy, Europe and rest of the world. You can also conveniently pick up the car on site, as it can stay 15 days at our storage facility free of charge. We recommend viewing the vehicle before the end of the auction, even via a video call on your smartphone (WhatsApp, FaceTime). Please send a message to Catawiki for an appointment. The seller reserves the right to claim compensation if the buyer does not pay for the purchase in accordance with the sales contract, which automatically comes into existence with the winning bid and obliges the buyer to make payment, which is available on the seller’s website.
