DRiving MGB roadster from year of manufacture 10-1977. License plate number 6-1978. This MGB was imported to The Netherlands from sunny California in 1992. Since its import, the B has been owned by its last owner. It has been enjoyed until 2006 and has since been in storage due to circumstances.
After 15 years in storage, the roadster is driving again. A completely new electronic ignition was installed, as well as a sports ignition coil and the electronics of the contact lock.
As you can see, the base is very good for a restoration. In terms of its body, the front fenders, all wheel housing edges, inner fenders, sills and bottom are really hard. The seams on top of the fenders are alright as well. The separate parts must be restored or replaced. Doors, boot and bonnet. The worst thing about the bodywork is the left rear fender and the rear edge in the boot.
The interior will need to be replaced. The chairs and rubber mats are intact. The hood and hood frame are present, but the hood is bad.
This means that it needs some technical work, of course! The motor starts well and provides good oil pressure when stationary. It runs fine during acceleration. The transmission handles well and the MB brakes straight. Of course, the brakes and clutch must be serviced. As well as the exhaust, tyres etc.
Optional spoke wheels including spare wheel. With the matching wrench and led hammer.
Some old inspection reports are included, as well as part of the Californian registration number and some service invoices.
It is recommended to view the car prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment. Video of the running motor available upon request.
This MG is located in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. It can be viewed and picked up there. I can arrange for export papers upon request and provide assistance with transport through Europe via my contacts.
