Volvo - 740 2.3GL - NO RESERVE - 1984
This is a special car of which very few are still driving around. An Eagle built by AMC in Canada which was then sold through Austria for the European market.
The car is therefore equipped with an odometer. The Eagles were built in the US and Canada at the time. The Canadian cars had the advantage of being fully galvanised, so rust had no chance.
The Eagle is a fine car to drive. Its four-speed gearbox shifts smoothly and the six-cylinder inline engine is a smooth engine that you can drive both in a sporty and lazy way.
At the back, the Eagle has the optional extra air suspension. This works, of course. The Eagle has manually engageable 4wd, which engages the front wheels. It does have to be engaged when stationary.
The 4wd also works fine. For a 42-year-old car, it is still a fine car to drive in daily traffic. In the Netherlands, it is exempt from motor vehicle tax. So it is also an ideal car to fit with LPG.
The car can be viewed in Hasselt, the Netherlands.
