Rare Zwitter Beetle, this model was built for only a few months.
The Zwitter is a transitional Beetle model with 'spectacles'/double rear windows. A model that was only briefly produced from 1952 to 1953. This half-year was used - in the transition from the Beetle with two rear windows to the Beetle with the oval rear window - to use up the old parts of the Beetle with two rear windows. Typical features for the Zwitter are the double rear windows combined with an oval dashboard, chrome trim around the rear windows, draft windows in the doors, the VDO odometer with directional arrows, the interior light above the driver, the familiar rear lights with hearts shape, the roll accelerator (pedal), the ashtray without a handle, the "ribbed" doors to chrome mouldings along the sides of the Beetle. All these elements were not present on the 'Spectacled' Beetle, and that is what makes the ZWITTER Beetle so unique. All of these elements are present on this Beetle.

This Zwitter is in good technical condition and comes with a new MOT (technical inspection). The Beetle has been modified in various ways to suit the present time:

• 1600CC engine with spaghetti exhaust

• disc brakes front and rear
• 12 Volt electrical system
• Good lighting bulbs were used
- Radio system was fitted
- Chrome 5-spoke EMPI rims

The engine starts immediately with a nice sound. The Beetle shifts smoothly through all gears and brakes properly. The paint is clean, it is an older paint with some patina / spots here and there.

This rare "Zwitter" has a Dutch registration with a valid MOT with no expiry date because of its age, so you know the car is technically sound. This classic can be enjoyed straight away!

A 'Spectacled' Beetle 'Zwitter' model is virtually impossible to find, and they are only very rarely offered for sale. So don’t wait too long and become the new owner of this timeless Volkswagen!
