Bijzonder, en bijzonder leuk, deze Volvo PV444E uit het laatste productiejaar met de splitwindow bij zowel voorruit als achterruit, en het uitgebreide dashboard en daardoor één van de meest gewilde modeljaren onder liefhebbers. 

De auto heeft een Zweedse (afgemelde) registratie, en kan op wens en zonder extra kosten met EU export papieren worden afgeleverd, zodat een buitenlandse nieuwe eigenaar de Volvo gemakkelijk kan registreren. 

De auto start prima, maar heeft wat meer choke nodig totdat hij op bedrijfstemperatuur is. Ook mocht het brandstofsysteem van de brandstoftank baat hebben bij een schoonmaakbeurt. En een regelmatig gebruik kan ook nuttig zijn. Daarbij moet worden opgemerkt dat de auto nieuwe banden heeft gekregen, de remmen heeft opgeknapt en nu is vrijgesteld van keuring. 

De auto wordt geleverd met een verzameling oudere keuringsrapporten. In 1999 bedroeg de kilometerstand 70.635 km en vandaag staat deze op 71.663 km, wat wijst op minimaal gebruik in de afgelopen 24 jaar. De auto is onlangs 40 km naar ons Zweedse depot gereden en functioneerde daarna prima. Het wordt echter aanbevolen om te overwegen het brandstofsysteem en de tank schoon te maken, vooral omdat we onlangs het verstopte brandstoffilter hebben vervangen, wat zou kunnen verklaren waarom er wat meer choke nodig is totdat de juiste bedrijfstemperatuur is bereikt. 

Conditiebeoordeling Technische staat: Het brandstofsysteem en de tank zouden gereinigd moeten worden en eventueel de remmen afgesteld. Door de auto regelmatig te gebruiken, zal deze ook steeds beter worden. Het is vermeldenswaardig dat er een nieuwere contactsleutel en contactslot zijn gemonteerd. De Volvo is voorzien van nieuwe whitewall banden. 

Conditie interieur: Het interieur van de auto is compleet maar vertoont tekenen van ouderdomsslijtage en vlekken. De bestuurdersstoel heeft duidelijke beschadigingen, dit is te zien op de foto's. Nieuwere rubberen matten en een nieuwe hemelbekleding. De zijkanten van de deurpanelen zijn licht versleten en gebogen aan de onderranden. Het dashboard is compleet en het instrumentarium werkt, maar de brandstofmeter geeft fouten aan en het stuur heeft enkele scheurtjes. 

Conditie exterieur: De carrosserie van de auto is over het algemeen goed, maar vertoont tekenen van veroudering. Hij heeft in het verleden een renovatie ondergaan, waarbij onder meer de voor- en achterspatborden zijn vervangen door vervangende kunststof spatborden, die in nette toestand zijn. Het lakwerk is ok, maar er zijn hier en daar slijtage en vlekken aanwezig, sommigen noemen het patina, en het zal na het poetsen weer als nieuw glanzen. Het chroom is compleet en heeft lichte roest op de voor- en achterbumpers. 

De onderzijde is in nette toestand.

Algemene staat: Ideaal voor iemand die een klassieke PV wil kopen en ervan wil genieten zoals hij is. De mogelijkheid om cosmetische problemen in de loop van de tijd geleidelijk aan aan te pakken, bestaat uiteraard, ook al is dit niet urgent.

Mocht de behoefte aan onderdelen bestaan, zoals bijvoorbeeld een nieuwe bestuurdersstoel-bekleding, de verkoper heeft vele contacten in binnen en buitenland, en kan u helpen de gewenste onderdelen te vinden. Volvo spare parts zijn volop verkrijgbaar, en tegen aantrekkelijke prijzen!
