Eén van de meest populaire als wel niet de meest populaire BMW modellijn. De E30. Dit was de fabriekscode voor de 3-serie en de Z1, welke werden geproduceerd van 1984 tot aan 1994. Er waren veel verschillende uitvoeringen van gemaakt. Een Touring, 2 en 4-deurs sedan, cabriolet, maar ook een M3. Motoren waren er ook in allemaal diverse variaties; 1.8 Carburateur, 2.4 (turbo)diesel, 2.0-2.7 liter 6-cilinders, 2.3 liter 16-klepper, etc. In totaal werden er zo'n 2.344.341 stuks geproduceerd.

Onze BMW 316 uit 1987 is het enige E30 model met een carburateur. En in dit geval, een Weber carburateur. De E30 is geleverd in een nette lachs-silber tegenover een donkerblauw stoffen interieur. Hij heeft een tellerstand van slechts 165.049km, wat aantoonbaar is met een NAP teller-rapport. Het interieur verkeert in een nette staat. De kriksteunen voor hebben wat aandacht nodig.

Het gaat om een origineel Nederlands geleverde BMW. Hij is op 27 februari 1987 verkocht bij autobedrijf B. Henken te Elst. Dit is terug te zien in het onderhoudsboekje, samen met meerdere stempels van inspecties door de jaren heen. Hiermee is aan te tonen dat hij altijd goed onderhouden en verzorgd is. De 4e en laatste eigenaar heeft hem in bezit gehad sinds 2007, oftewel 16 jaar lang.

Onder de motorkap ligt er een 1.8 4-cilinder met carburateur. De carburateur is vervangen voor een gewilde Weber carburateur met handmatige choke. Hier is een factuur van aanwezig. De motor is gekoppeld aan een handgeschakelde 5-versnellingsbak. Hij loopt goed en schakelt soepel.

Uiteraard heeft deze BMW door zijn originaliteit gebruikerssporen opgelopen, en er zijn kleine imperfecties aanwezig, zie foto's.
