MG - BGT - 1973

Jarenlang is er met veel plezier in deze auto gereden, maar inmiddels heeft de vorige eigenaresse haar hart verloren aan een Jeep Cherokee, zodat het hele gezin mee kan. En zo komt deze prachtige MGB GT nu beschikbaar voor een volgende liefhebber.

De auto verkeert in een nette, gebruikte staat – zeker geen museumstuk, maar een echte rijdersauto. Hij start goed, sputtert niet, slaat niet af en rookt niet. De afgelopen tijd heb ik er met veel zorg aan gewerkt waarbij de motorolie is ververst de remmen rondom zijn aangepakt, de ophangingsrubbers zijn vervangen, de uitlaat deugdelijk is gemonteerd, carburateurs zijn schoongemaakt en de kleppen zijn gesteld.

De MG rijdt goed en voelt solide aan. Van buiten ziet hij er verzorgd uit, al is de lak ooit in Amerika overgespoten en dat is destijds goed gedaan maar de standaarden liggen vandaag de dag natuurlijk hoger. Gebruikssporen zijn aanwezig maar overall is de carrosserie goed. De chroomdelen zijn ook goed met ouderdomssporen.

Wat deze MGB GT extra bijzonder maakt, zijn de subtiele modificaties die ooit door de vorige eigenaar – een ware liefhebber – zijn aangebracht. In de motorruimte zie je zijn werk terug: niet origineel, maar wel met liefde en vakmanschap uitgevoerd.

Het interieur is ook in een goede staat met teknken van ouderdom en gebruik. De bekleding is nog netjes zonder scheuren en de deurpanelen en het dashboard zijn ook nog in goede conditie.

De onderzijde is hard en netjes onderhouden, met originele onderdelen waar mogelijk. Dit is een coupé met een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding en een flinke dosis karakter.
