Description from the seller
Beautiful handmade silver pendant with circles and set with a synthetic citrine. (Bauhaus Era).
Made circa 1928-40 by a skilled creative silversmith from the Halle region, Germany.
Indistinct silver hallmark, tested with acid = approx. 835
Pendant size: 25 mm L x 22 mm W.
Chain indistinct silver hallmark, tested with acid = approx. 835
Length: 50 cm L
Total weight: 6.72.
Bauhaus ideas and designs were quickly taken up around 1928 by the silversmiths in the region.
Convincing modernist jewelry in the style of the "New Objectivity" emerged, which showed a complete departure from classical jewelry and was produced until the end of the 1940s.
The jewelry was defined by geometric shapes such as spheres, cones, squares, loops and spirals, a beautiful example is this pendant from that period!

I am a private seller who for 11 years with great passion may sell the jewelry I carefully found in the winter season on Catawiki.
