AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor

General

This Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor Final Edition Automatic from 2003 is an originally Dutch-delivered car (Horst, Limburg) dating from September 19, 2003. It is a facelift model of the R170 generation, produced as an exclusive and limited Final Edition. The SLK combines sportiness with comfort and luxury, and is equipped with the desirable 2.0-liter Kompressor engine with 164 hp in combination with the comfortable 5-speed automatic “Touch Shift” 5G-Tronic transmission.

The name SLK stands for “Sportlich, Leicht und Kurz” – sporty, light and compact – and this model was, at the time, one of the first cars with a metal electrically operated hardtop. With more than 300,000 units produced, the R170 has been a very successful model within the Mercedes range.

Bodywork & Paint Shop

The car is finished in the attractive Cubanite Silver Metallic (color code 723), a chic silver shade with a subtle bronze glow that pairs beautifully with the extra chrome accents and the distinctive alloy wheels of the Final Edition.

The original 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are all around fitted with good Michelin tires. The paintwork has in the past been treated with a glass coating. Visually, the car shows normal signs of use consistent with its age. On the right side trim of the front bumper there is damage and around several body edges there is light rusting visible. In 2023 the headlights were renewed.

A hallmark of the Final Edition includes, among other features, the chrome-silver metallic-painted grille, trim strips on the roof and trunk lid, the "SLK Final Edition" badges on the front fenders, and the special alloy wheels.

INTERIOR:

The interior exudes pure elegance and is finished in black Nappa leather with heated seats. The combination of silver gauge faces in the instrument cluster, aluminum accents on the center console and door handles, and the chrome “SLK Final Edition” inlay on the gear lever emphasize its exclusive character.

The car is equipped with power windows, power steering, air conditioning and cruise control. In addition, an Alpine radio is installed with DAB, USB, CD and Bluetooth. The original Mercedes radio is also present. In 2023 a wind deflector was installed for extra comfort when driving with the top down.

The interior shows normal signs of wear consistent with its age. The trunk space is neat and tidy.

Technical

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder Kompressor engine delivers 164 hp and powers the rear wheels. In combination with the 5-speed automatic 5G-Tronic transmission, this provides smooth and comfortable performance. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in about 8.5 seconds and offers ample power for both relaxed cruising and longer vacations.

On September 11, 2025, at a mileage of 164,523 km, the most recent maintenance was carried out, during which, among other things, the windshield wiper blades and the interior filter were replaced. In 2023, at 158,722 km, the gasket and the filter of the automatic transmission were renewed and the automatic transmission oil was replaced. Also in 2023, the center muffler of the exhaust was replaced.

The car starts, runs, shifts and brakes well. The MOT is valid until 29 September 2026.

Documents

The car is supplied with the original booklets, including the owner's manual, instruction manual, warranty certificates and documentation for the Alpine radio. Maintenance invoices are available. The car also comes with a certificate for the built-in SCM alarm system, two keys, and the original toolkit.

AFHALING

A viewing is available by appointment. Transport can be arranged on request.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
