MG - TD - 1951

Technically speaking, the MG T series cars were not particularly advanced, but they were easy to maintain, cheap to buy and, most importantly, fun. The cars had a sturdy four-cylinder engine with a four-speed manual transmission and hydraulic brakes, dressed in sporty open bodywork. These MGs cost less than £1,000 when new and approximately 30,000 were built. However, the survival rate is surprisingly low, purely because the cars were not very expensive and a thorough restoration would be economically irresponsible. Therefore, finding one that has been beautifully restored is quite difficult. The MG TD we offer is an example of one that has been restored in a very beautiful way. A bit about the car's history: This MG-TD was delivered new in 1951 to a customer in the United States. The car drove around in sunny California and therefore in a perfect climate. In the summer of 1995, the car was purchased by a Dutch enthusiast who brought the car to the Netherlands. The Dutchman carried out a very thorough restoration. The result is a particularly beautiful and very well-driving MG. The restoration was mechanical and cosmetic and covered virtually all aspects of the car. The bodywork was disassembled and repainted, the interior renewed, the engine overhauled and the suspension and brake system renewed. The car is in absolutely fantastic condition on the outside. The car has a great coat of paint / lacquer and shows minimal signs of wear. The chrome is very good, with light swirls and other stains, but very beautiful overall. The car has an excellent black canvas convertible top without any damage. The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. The wooden dashboard shows no damage and the seats and door panels are in excellent condition. The most impressive of this MG is perhaps the bottom. You often come across restored cars with a bottom that has been forgotten, but in the case of this MG that certainly is not the case. The bottom looks great and almost like new. In short, a unique opportunity to acquire a fantastic MG TD. Examples like this are hard to find.
